She imagined a space that allowed her to breathe, recharge, and take a moment of quiet to herself without needing to plan weeks in advance. A space where rest was the priority.
Owners, Nicole and Phil Meagher, met in 2010 while living in Bend, Oregon. After a brief time together, they left to explore Central America for an extensive period of time, which shaped the way they see life, community, and the world. They believe rest isn't a privilege, but is a priority for all to enjoy.
Aloe became a dream in 2021, when they welcomed their second child into the world. Nicole began to feel societal pressure to "do more". She owned a busy retail store in downtown Redmond, had two kids under the age of 4, and felt the balance of peaceful routines shift to chaos and exhaustion. She dreamed of a space where she could spend an afternoon to rest without the guilt. She imagined a space that allowed her to breathe, recharge, and take a moment of quiet to herself without needing to plan weeks in advance. A space where rest was the priority. That space didn't exist in her world then, but her dream became Aloe today.
Phil and Nicole still enjoy many hikes, adventures, and camping trips together with their two children and two sweet pups. Their favorite spots are the Oregon Coast, Costa Rica, Australia, and Silver Creek Falls.
